"TO RACE THE WIND" IS RECORDED!!!
This album is BRAND NEW! So new in fact, it hasn't been released yet, the CD hasn't been manufactured , and it is not available anywhere else! YOU can buy it as a download right now though, because Claudia thinks anyone who supports her enough to come looking for it ought to get it before anyone else!
A little over a year ago, Claudia walked through the front door of Nashville’s legendary Sound Emporium Recording Studios with a blank home equity loan check in her pocket. She pulled open the heavy sound proof door into Studio A, and said hello to a room full of Nashville A-List musicians. By the days end, they had recorded the basic tracks for eleven songs, and begun the best album she has ever made.
THE "NASHVILLE CATS": The musicians she chose for the project included 2021 Academy of Country Music pedal steel player of the year Dan Dugmore. On piano and accordion was Grammy winner Jeff Taylor, formerly of the Time Jumpers. Americana Music Association 2025 Musician of the year nominee Seth Taylor played Acoustic Guitar and Banjo, Tammy Rogers of the Grammy winning “Steel Drivers” band laid down fiddle, mandolin, and violas, and adding flugelhorn on a couple songs was Vinnie Ciesielski. Grammy winning drummer Nick Buda was on drums, and 2021 Academy of Country Music Bass Player of the Year nominee Steve MacKey played upright bass.

country standard.” Goldmine

KISS & TELL
Making this album was a lovely stroll down memory lane, but it also felt like an episode of “Survivor”. The grim reaper has nabbed two of my former partners, which was a big part of why I wanted to put this CD together.
The duets with Tom Dundee were recorded live at Murphy’s Saloon in Elk Grove, CA on May 15th 1994. It was Tom’s birthday, and I ate more of his birthday cake than he did, and matched him beer for beer as well. My late father was in the audience that night, and he was the “Big Jim” Tom talks to during “Peg Leg Johnson”. Tom passed away April 18th, 2006.
When Chuck McCabe and I were first together back in my early 20s, we performed in a bar called the “Woodshed” on Cape Cod, MA during the summer. “The Coo Coo Bird” was recorded there, by Paul Cass. “Tom the Harp” can be heard on this song playing bass and singing background vocals. The other duets with Chuck were recorded on August 6th, 2002 during a reunion show at Espresso Gardens in Campbell, CA. That show included my dear friend Chris Ramey who was a hero of the San Franciso folk scene back in the 60s & 70s. It was the last time I would sing with either of them. Chuck passed away July 23rd, 2010.
Jimmy Maddox lives in Bloomingdale, Georgia . The duets with Jimmy were studio recordings we made in my home studio around 2004. He is both the keyboard player and male vocalist on these tracks.
